Hello every one, i just purchased and installed automation addon. what settings should I maintain in application settings to make it work smoother ?

@James i will try to provide complete guidance from installation to final configuration.

Installation of Automation



Navigate to Setup in left menu > click on Add-ons to access the Add-ons Management page.
On the view add-ons page click the "Upload add-on" button from the top right corner to add New Addon.
a pop up will apear where you uplaed the automations.zip file which you can download from client area after purchasing.

Automations Settings and Initial Setup

Enable Automations
In the Application settings, under the General tab, set the Queue driver to the database. and select process queues in Real time from drop down.

Activating Automation and Automation Settings

Under the Triggers tab, enable Automation Status.
You will also find the Automation settings select the settings upon your choice.

User Settings

In User side, we have automation settings that contains

Reset Automation Limit: It will take action on the system-paused Automation which is paused due to limit exceed. We have two options
  1. “Skip” will skip the system-paused automation when the limit is reset
  2. “Resume” It will resume the system-paused automation when the limit is reset
you will locate these settings by clicking on profile picture -> user settings -> Automations

no you cannot set hourly limit in automation as it will destroy its purpose .

Also it is not recomended to use Send an email automation on importing contacts. you might exhaust your SMTPs if they are not well warmed up.
or you might end up with making queus. (Choice is yours)

automation addon is to provide better engagment and make you put less efforts in your emailing.

the ideal usage of Automation for sending any type of emails on new contacts is when a contact is added to a contact list via API or webform or manually.
