Outlook Users Marked as Bots?

Hey,

I wanted to discuss something with you. I just checked my campaign stats, and I noticed that my own email is marked as a 'BOT.' The thing is, I opened that email myself on Outlook. Do you think Mumara considers Outlook users as bots? That wouldn't make sense, considering how many people use Outlook. Also, I couldn't see my IP address. Do you think the admin has hidden it, or is it because of Outlook?

Hi,

The image is not showing IP, which is causing Mumara to be unable to detect the agent and mark it as a bot. It appears that you may not have installed the GeoIP dependency. To obtain the IP and other geolocation information, install the GeoIP dependency.

how do I check if my GeoIP feature is turned on or off? I'm not sure if it's enabled or not.

Hello William,

Once you have clicked to download the Geoip Dependencies from the drop down menu of the Initial Setup Guide the GeoIP feature will stay enabled for every campaign you sent from Mumara. It is not recommended to disable this feaure thats why there is no setting available for this in the UI however, if you still need to turn it off you can manually remove 'geoip' folder from your Mumara root installation directory. Please have a look at the snapshot as well for better understanding.

I have checked that my GeoIP service is enabled. Can you please explain why this issue is occurring?

Maybe you didn't catch what I said earlier. I clearly mentioned that I checked the email on Outlook, and guess what? It's showing up as a 'BOT'

Hello William,

In Mumara, GeoIP dependencies use Maxmind databases which are considered one of the biggest IP information repositories so whatever response while fetching openers we get from it we post it in the available open statistics, and upon its behavioral evaluation it may have considered the emails as BOT. Still, there is nothing to worry about it will not affect anything on the stats. You may choose to exclude them by clicking on the 'Exclude Bots' toggle.

Thankyou
