List of questions about mumara campaigns+

Beginner
Hello,

I have a certain email setup in my mind and have specific questions related to the same. I want to see if it can be achieved and if it works for me. So I want to run high volume email campaigns with 100s of nodes(slowly but eventually).

1. Can we add DNS API for registrar so the records are updated automatically.
2. Can I monitor all PMTA instances in one interface and adjust their config files in single go? For eg adjusting throttling speed for multiple nodes at the same time instead of manually changing for each server.
3. Is it possible to hide main mumara domain and ip? Will the ISPs/Filters know if all the sending nodes are connected to a single app(via cname or main ip/domain)?
4. Can we modify headers?
5. What server specs would you recommend if I have 10M database?
6. Do you have video overview of all the features?
7. Does mumara also create the mailboxes for all the domains? I want to see the replies and reply to users who respond to emails.
8. Can we add domains in blacklist?

Will add more questions in thread as I think of.

Thanks

1. Can we add DNS API for registrar so the records are updated automatically.
Ans: We have a pre-launched addon for this. We plan to release it by the end of November. In the meantime, you can use hooks to achieve this goal if you are familiar with PHP programming.

2. Can I monitor all PMTA instances in one interface and adjust their config files in single go? For eg adjusting throttling speed for multiple nodes at the same time instead of manually changing for each server.
Ans: Yes, you can access and modify the config file within Mumara. But you'll need to manually change the speed for it. Although, Mumara can also handle the throttling. You can set hourly speed when scheduling campaigns or even at the user role-level.

3. Is it possible to hide main mumara domain and ip? Will the ISPs/Filters know if all the sending nodes are connected to a single app(via cname or main ip/domain)?
Ans: Yes, you can use the cloaking method for the tracking domains. This method posts the tracking data from your tracking domains' hosting server to the Mumara server secretly. As a result, your tracking domains' IP will be exposed instead of Mumara's IP.

4. Can we modify headers?
Ans: Yes, you can add custom headers.

5. What server specs would you recommend if I have 10M database?
Ans: The server requirements for Mumara depend on the intended usage and scale of the project. For contact lists under 1000 contacts, shared hosting is viable. For larger lists in the millions, a dedicated hardware setup with sufficient resources is necessary. Keep in mind that resources required cannot be calculated solely based on the number of contacts. Other factors, such as the number of segments, triggers, campaigns, and parallel threads being utilized, must also be considered. In cases where contacts are idle, there is no resource consumption, but the usage of campaigns and segment creation will increase resource utilization. The best approach is to start with lower specifications, such as a server or VPS with 2 cores and 4GB RAM, and then adjust accordingly based on usage. Mumara is designed to optimize available resources for improved performance, so higher resource availability will enhance overall performance. Moreover, the server must be well-optimized to allow PHP and MySQL to use the maximum available resources. If you are unsure about allocating resources to PHP or MySQL, seek guidance from the Community.

6. Do you have video overview of all the features?
Ans: We do not have any official videos yet.

7. Does mumara also create the mailboxes for all the domains? I want to see the replies and reply to users who respond to emails.
Ans: We have an addon that processes replies and connects to mailboxes over POP/IMAP. However, it has not been launched yet.

8. Can we add domains in blacklist?
Ans: Do you mean domain-based suppression? Yes, you can do that.

Thank you so much @wasif for such a detailed explanation.

1. I am not too familiar with coding but I can do very basic level stuff like asking chatgpt to create some script and make changes to it to get it to work. I can't code from scratch at all.

2. Okay great!

3. Understood thanks.

4. Great.

5. Okay how about this:
10M contacts, 500k mails a day split across 10 campaigns running daily, 25 sending nodes, 25 domains, 5 active segments.

My current mailwizz set up has 64GB ram, 12 cores, 800GB SSD All dedicated not VPS. I have almost 5M contacts and sending 10 campaigns a day(around 200k/day total) but its getting very slow, I have 17 sending nodes.
Is this server spec good enough?

6. Okay

7. Okay cool, do you know of any other way I can install it manually for now? Any webmail, I just want to see the replies and respond to them.

8. Yes. Okay cool. Also can we do this, if I have 1 sending node and I only want to send to yahoo emails and block all other domains from it, is it possible?

1. If you are not familiar, it's better to wait for the DNS automation addon. Meanwhile, you can add them manually in the DNS panel.

5. Still suggesting sever specs isn't a wise thing to do it without looking at the hardware model and the generation. But the specs you mention, should work great with Mumara.

7. You can host the email anywhere e.g. gsuite or any cpanel etc and use the webmail to see the replies. no?

8. You need to put all domains in the suppression or use the segments feature to create a segment of all yahoo emails, and then schedule your campaigns to it. Or another best way it to add a trigger, to move all emails to another list which don't contains @yahoo.com. Makes sense?

1. Okay its better I wait and add manually till then.

5. I understand, just need to get a rough idea thats all. HP G8 / Intel 2xE5-2430v2 this is the server. But I'll start small first and see how that goes.

7. I am not very techincal and gsuite or cpanel would cost a lot I think since I have lots of domains to get configured every month.

8. Yup understood. Thanks

5. It should work.
7. If you have a hosting account somewhere, you can host the mailboxes there.

7. If I get a small vps then can I host multiple mailboxes from multiple domains? For eg if I have 5 domains, and I want to create 5 catch-all mailboxes for those domains can I host all those in 1 vps?.

btw I just bought the subscription so I'll try to host with 8gb vps and play around with 500k susbcribers and see how it goes :)

If you are unfamiliar with server's stuff, you can get any free control panel installed and it will give you a GUI to host the domains and email accounts quickly. But again, some similar knowledge would be required. If you know how to SSH etc, you can just install a control panel.

Yes I know how to use SSH and do basic commands on it.
I have never installed a cpanel yet but if it has given steps then I'll definitely install it easily.
Thank you.
