SendGrid vs Mumara for Transactional Emails

Hello community

We’re currently sending transactional emails (order confirmations, password resets, system alerts) through SendGrid. It works fine, but costs are starting to grow as our volume increases.

I recently came across Mumara Campaigns and MumaraONE, and I’m curious:

- Can Mumara handle high-volume transactional email as reliably as SendGrid?
- Has anyone here actually switched from SendGrid to Mumara?

Would appreciate real-world experiences.

Thats a very good thought, many high-volume senders ask the same thing.

SendGrid is popular for transactional email, but Mumara has some strong advantages, especially if you want more control over infrastructure and sending logic.

The biggest difference is this:
SendGrid = managed ESP infrastructure
Mumara = full sending platform with infrastructure control
This matters a lot when you scale.

Interesting. Our main concern is reliability.

We send around 350k transactional emails/day from our SaaS platform:
  • account activation
  • login alerts
  • password resets
  • system notifications
Would Mumara handle this kind of load?

Yes this is actually a common Mumara Campaigns + API integration use case.

Many SaaS platforms use Mumara for:
  • transactional notifications
  • account activity alerts
  • billing emails
  • system-generated emails
Instead of routing through a third-party ESP like SendGrid, you can send through your own dedicated IP infrastructure managed by Mumara.

Example setup used by a SaaS platform:

Volume: 400k transactional emails/day
Infrastructure:
  • 3 dedicated IPs
  • Mumara Campaigns API integration
  • SMTP authentication for application servers
  • Priority queue for transactional traffic
Transactional emails are sent separately from marketing campaigns, so delivery remains stable.

Good point. Let’s compare them based on real usage.

The infrastructure control part sounds appealing.

With SendGrid we sometimes get throttled and can’t really control it

Sorry to butt into this thread.

How can I set Reply-To on MumaraONE api call.., the docs does not provide or specify how to do this..

@Christain, you also mention automation Workflows with MumaraONE. Can you give more insight into what that implies
