Sequential vs Batch Sending Which Works Better for me?

Hello everyone,
I’m looking at IP rotation in Mumara and wanted to get some knowledge from the community.

There are two common approaches:
  • Sequential distribution
  • Batch sending (sends fast)
For those who’ve tested both I want to know which will work better for me.
 
Hey, this is a good question, but before starting the discussion on this, give some more details on the points mentioned below.

I’ve tested both methods across different campaigns, and honestly, the results vary depending on the goal.

Before sharing my experience, can you clarify:
  1. Are your IPs fully warmed or still warming?
  2. Is your audience mainly major ISPs?
  3. Are campaigns time-sensitive or engagement-focused?
 
Okay here are my answers:
  1. IPs are warmed but not very old
  2. Yes, around 70% major ISPs
  3. Mostly engagement-focused, not urgent
 
In that case, Sequential Distribution wins

Here’s why it consistently performed better for me:
Sequential Distribution (What Worked Well)
  • Sends are evenly spread across IPs
  • Major ISPs see natural, human-like behavior
  • Each IP gets a recovery time
  • Spam complaints stay lower
  • Open rates are more stable
My observation is that Inboxing improved within 7–10 days after switching from batch to sequential.

Batch Sending (When It Backfired)

Batch sending can work, but only when:
  • IPs are very mature
  • Volume is predictable
  • Content has high engagement
When I used batch mode on semi-warmed IPs:
  • Major ISPs throttled aggressively
  • Opens dropped
  • Spam placement increased temporarily
But all in vain, batch sending can work even better when you have every pre-requisite set correctly.
 
Not avoided, just use it wisely when you are completely ready with everything.

Batch sending is better for:
  • Flash sales
  • Time-critical alerts
  • Very warm IPs
  • Better, trusted lists
Sequential is better for:
  • Newer campaigns
  • Major ISPs heavy audiences
  • Long-term reputation building
