SPF + DKIM pass, but emails still land in spam

Hello community. I’m really confused and hoping someone can explain this.

I’ve set up SPF and DKIM correctly in Mumara.
Both are passing (I checked headers of the emails sent from Mumara and they showed as verified).

Still, my emails are landing in Spam, especially on Gmail.

So now I’m stuck with a few questions:
  • If SPF and DKIM are passing, why spam?
  • Is this a Mumara issue or something else?
  • What am I missing here?
Any real advice would help

This is a very common situation and the confusion is understandable.

First thing to clear up is SPF and DKIM passing does NOT guarantee inbox placement.

They only prove who sent the email, not whether the email is wanted.

I can break it down in practical terms if you need any further details on this.

After SPF and DKIM, inbox providers care most about reputation and engagement.

From what I usually see in the sendings of Mumara, spam placement happens due to:
  • Low opens or clicks recently
  • Sending to inactive or old contacts
  • Sudden increase in volume
  • Spam complaints (even small numbers matter)
Mumara is delivering the emails inbox providers decide where they land.

Yes quite easily.

Here’s what typically happens:
  • Inactive users don’t open
  • Engagement drops
  • Inbox providers lose trust
  • Emails start going to Spam or Promotions
SPF/DKIM still pass, but reputation drops quietly in the background.

That’s why everything looks correct technically, but results are bad.
