What happens if suppression list is added after list importing?

Will the list emails be suppressed from sending?

Example:

[email protected] was added on example list on 1 October
[email protected] is added on suppression list on 2 October

When I mail on this example list; will [email protected] be suppressed?

Yes suppression list timestamp doesn't matter. Mumara filters the suppressed contacts in realtime before starting the broadcast.

It will be better to suppress emails while importing since the suppress list is there.

Yes but then suppression doesn't make sense as there is no flag in subscribers table that this email is suppressed. Suppression is always a separate table as it has to work globally. What if you put a suppressed email after importing your lists? Do you want to re-import the lists again to process the suppressed emails? So it's always filtered in real-time when you start schedule a broadcast. Otherwise you can use the bulk update tool to mark your existing contacts as inactive!
